Rhinothane T – A Superior High-Performance Topcoat
Offering superior weather, chemical and abrasion resistance, Rhinothane T is one of the flagship products of Wagon Paints. The 2 pack polyurethane high performance topcoat is suitable for a range of applications and comes in an extensive range of colours in gloss.
What are the typical applications for Rhinothane T?

Typical substrates include aluminium, galvanised iron, steel, zincseal / zincalume, fibreglass and timber.
What colours is Rhinothane T available in?
This comes in an extensive range of colours in gloss and satin finishes and easy colour matching with Coloryte® Industrial Tint System. At 25ºC, it is touch dry in 45 minutes, hard dry in 6 hours, with a full cure in 5 days. Recoating is recommended within 16 to 24 hours to ensure good intercoat adhesion. After 24 hours, sanding is required before recoating.
What primers are suitable to use with it?
Suitable Wagon Paint primers include Rhinamel® Undercoat, Rhinogrip® Etch Primer, Rhinamel CC Primer, Epoxy ZPP and Epoxycoat. Pack A is available in 1L, 2L, 4L, 10L and 20L sizes. Pack B comes in 500ml, 1L, 2L, 5L and 10L sizes. (2:1 mix ratio) Rhinogrip® Etch Primer may be directly overcoated with Rhinothane T to provide an economical and quick drying alternative to the traditional 2 pack epoxy undercoats. For optimum performance in severe environments, the use of a single coat of epoxy undercoat between the Rhinogrip® Etch Primer and Rhinothane T is recommended.

What surface preparation is required for Rhinothane T?
Bare steel surfaces must be degreased, then subjected to abrasive blasting (to AS 1627.4 Class 2½) or abrasion with a suitable power cleaning tool (e.g. disc sander). This is not suitable for application directly to bare metal. Refer to recommendations Coatings Systems.
